Edward Mylechreest was raised in the Salvation Army, and has always been immersed in music, and surrounded by the sound of Brass Bands. He studied music at the University of Birmingham, with a specialism in Composition, Performance (Trombone) and Conducting, and graduated in 2013. He is currently based in London, working as a freelance musician and music educator.
He has written extensively for Brass Band, particularly writing for the Salvation Army, writing music with a religious element using hymn tunes and worship songs. Edward’s music has been performed all over the world, and he is delighted to hear from conductors, directors and bandsmen who have enjoyed playing his music.
Edward is very pleased to be a part of Bell Music publishing and Marcato Brass, and looks forward to hearing his compositions played by a wide variety of bands. Further information about Edward’s compositions and other projects can be found at MylestoneMusic.com
