Many settings of the Requiem Mass include a Pie Jesu as an independent movement. Of these, probably the best known is from the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré.
It is a sublime aria which sings the prayer to the ‘good Jesus’ for everlasting rest.
This setting, arranged by Alwyn Green for Brass Octet beautifully captures the spirit of the original work.
