This piece was inspired by a particularly complex and demanding maths homework which the composer was helping his daughter to complete. He wanted a way to use a complex rhythm (as heard on the xylophones), but also make it easy to remember for the players by making it into a catchy riff; unlike the laborious stages needed to try to calculate the internal angles in the original maths question!
The cover designs for Justins’ pieces have been inspired by the ‘Cycles 720‘ project; to design an A/v sequencer, meant for large venues, allowing someone to compose music simply by drawing shapes. Minimalist art into music!
